Fees & Rebates

A strictly private and confidential individual and relationship/ marriage counselling services. LGBTQI friendly.

All individual counselling and couples’ sessions are out of pocket cost, so all your personal information and records are confidential. No information is mandated to share with anyone without your written consent unless it is required by the law.

Payment

You'll need to pay upfront when you make an appointment to arrange the service better. Fees vary according to session types. After-hours appointments can possibly be arranged.

  • Individual Initial Appointment | 60 mins: $210

  • Follow-up Appointment | 50 mins:$195

  • Couples Initial Appointment | 90 mins:$320

  • Couples Therapy | 80 mins:$295

Medicare Rebates

While we currently do not provide Medicare rebates, we offer clients with valid Mental Health Treatment Plans and GP referral letters with a concession rate similar to out-of-pocket fees after Medicare rebates for 10 sessions after the initial assessment. Therefore, you can access psychological services without a long waiting period.

Concession Plan Eligibility

  • You have a full-time international student.

  • You can have counselling sessions via our online telehealth system.

  • You can arrange sessions during our business working hours, Tuesdays to Fridays from 11am to 4pm.

Private Health Funds

The practice is registered as the provider with Medibank and Bupa if you are insured with one of them and have an insurance policy that includes psychological counselling as an extra cover. Partial rebates may be claimable for both individual and couples counselling sessions. Please note that rebates from private health funds will vary. Consult with your private insurance provider for further information about your coverage.


  • A standard individual counselling session is 1 hour in which 50 mins is for therapy and the remaining 10 mins is for notes taking and other admin tasks.

  • A standard couple’s therapy session is 90 mins in which 80 mins is therapy and the remaining 10 mins is for notes taking and other admin tasks.

  • Any third party billing will require information sharing to claim rebates.

Documents

The Fee for all written reports requested by the clients or for third-party billing purposes including progress notes, treatment plans, assessment reports is 1 hour session fee. This fee is incurred because all these reports and letters require time outside of consultation to be completed. Please inform and discuss with our practice about your report/letter requirements before making your appointment and be aware that time to prepare all these documents is needed, so please ensure that you notify the practice enough time for your request to be completed.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

As a courtesy to other clients needing appointments and therapist’s time, it is appreciated if you could inform the practice as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

The practice has a 48-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please notify the practice no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. Any changes informed less than 48 hours will be charged a full session fee for this particular session. Please note that no third party payers such as private health funds, Medicare or WorkCover provide rebates for cancelled or unattended appointments. The fee becomes the client’s responsibility to pay.

Availability

The practice is dedicated to making the counselling and psychotherapy services accessible for all who need someone who can speak Mandarin and English and understand their enriched life and cultural experiences as someone living in the country outside of their original ones. LGBTQI+ Friendly!

  • All in-person and Telehealth sessions are arranged within the therapy opening hours.

  • Please note that the services are not for any life crisis intervention, not suitable for emotional highly unstable and high-risk suicidal clients.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Every country has its own regulations about who can claim the title as a psychologist. In many ways, the work the clinical counsellors, psychotherapists, counselling psychologists and clinical psychologists are overlapping and similar. While master’s level clinical psychologists have more training emphasis on assessment, other master’s level clinical counsellors have more training emphasis on providing psychotherapy and counselling to clients with general mental health and relationship issues. Regardless of the title, I suggest you to see the clinician’s academic and clinical background and experiences to decide which clinician suits your needs better.

  • All individual and couples sessions may be partially rebated if you have private health insurance (Bupa, Medibank and Ahm) that includes psychological counselling as extras cover. Please consult with your private insurance company. This is also only applicable if you are not using the Medicare rebate.

  • Yes, face to face sessions are offered with limited time slots available.

  • Yes, we provide video consultations to clients wherever they are and we will work out with you the suitable time for you and the therapist.

  • Yes, our video sessions are provided globally. We can work out a time convenient to you and match our therapy hours.

  • The practice can not prescribe medications or perform formal diagnostic assessments and psychiatric evaluation for insurances and work related purposes. We provide psychological reports to your GP’s or other practitioners upon request with a fee.
